  • Arsenal are scheduled to curtain-raise the 2022/23 Premier League season with an away trip to Crystal Palace
  • Fortunately for the Gunners, they will not play any of the traditional big six teams in the opening fixtures of the campaign
  • However, October will be a defining moment for Mikel Arteta's men with tricky fixtures in Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man City on the cards

Arsenal have been handed a dream start to the 2022/23 campaign following the release of next season's fixtures.

The Gunners are scheduled to curtain-raise the season with an away trip to Selhurst Park on Friday, August 5, to face Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta's men will then host Leicester City at the Emirates in their second fixture on Saturday, August 13, before battling newly-promoted, Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium a week later.

The north Londoners will then wind up their August schedule with two home matches against Fulham and Aston Villa.

However, the month of October will prove critical for Arteta's men as they are set to play the majority of the big six sides including Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and reigning champions, Man City.

Arsenal close to signing Gabriel Jesus

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal have emerged as strong favourites to sign Man City striker Gabriel Jesus this summer.

The Gunners' failure to qualify for the Champions League had threatened to scupper their hopes of signing the Brazilian.

However, Jesus' desire to work with Mikel Arteta and craving for first-team action could see him move to the Emirates.
