The Blues had a bright start to the just-concluded season and had been backed to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League only to fall behind Liverpool and Man City.

Tuchel has already underscored the need for the club to sign a prolific striker this summer to help his side to keep up pace with Liverpool and City.

Metro UK now reports that Chelsea are considering rivalling Barcelona for the signing of Lewandowski this summer.

The Polish striker has just a year left on his deal with the Bavarians but has been linked with a possible summer exit.

The Ex-Borussia Dortmund ace appeared to say goodbye to supporters at the Allianz Arena last week sparking speculation he could dump Bayern.

According to The Guardian, the 33-year-old is keen on joining Barcelona should he depart Bayern Munich.

However, it remains to be seen if the La Liga giants can afford his salary, especially considering their financial struggles.
