Arsenal are reportedly interested in the signing of Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling, this summer.

The Gunners are desperate to reinforce their attack line in preparation for next season when they are expected to challenge for titles.

Metro UK reports Mikel Arteta has made the signing of a new striker one of his key priorities ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, the Arsenal boss also understood to be open to bolstering other areas of his attack.

It is for this reason the North Londoners have shortlisted Sterling among their summer targets.

The Telegraph claims Arsenal are monitoring Sterling’s situation at the Etihad and would be ready to make a move for the winger if he is available.

The report adds that Arteta is looking to make Sterling a ‘focal point’ of his attack, with the transfer heavily reliant on where his side will finish at the end of the season.

Arsenal linked with a move for Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal's interest in Sterling comes just days after they were linked with a move for City ace, Gabriel Jesus.

The Emirates outfit are believed to have opened talks with Jesus' representatives with the view of securing his services.

The Brazilian forward is thought to be more than willing to link up with Arteta at the Emirates, having played under him during the Spaniard's time at the Etihad as Pep Guardiola's assistant.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Gary Neville is backing Tottenham to silence Arsenal during the upcoming North London derby even as the top four battle hots up.

Tottenham are set to host arch-rivals, Arsenal, on Thursday night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The match comes at a time the two North London teams are eyeing a top-four finish at the end of the season.
