Jose Mourinho has refused to give Erik ten Hag any advice following the Dutchman's appointment as the new Manchester United boss.

Ten Hag was officially confirmed as United's next permanent manager last week, with the current Ajax tactician penning a three-year deal with the Red Devils.

He is set to take over from Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season as the latter assumes a consultancy role at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho gives spiky response when asked about Erik ten Hag's appointment

Mourinho, who is currently in England for Roma's Europa Conference League clash against Leicester City, was asked what advice he has for Ten Hag as he takes charge at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, the Special One had no time for any distraction as he outrightly declined to share any tips with Ten Hag.

“You touched the point. It's my former club," the 59-year-old Portuguese boss said.
"It's not my club. I don’t have any advice," he added.

Mourinho sets sights on winning the inaugural Europa Conference League

Meanwhile, Mourinho will be hoping to see his Roma side overcome Leicester City for a chance to reach the final of the inaugural European competition.

Roma dismantled Bodo Glimt in the round of eight to set up a semi-final fixture with Leicester.

On their part, Brendan Rodgers led the Foxes to a thrilling win over Dutch giants, PSV Eindhoven, to reach the semis.

Mourinho pays tribute to late Leicester City owner

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jose Mourinho is back in England with his Roma side ahead of their Europa Conference League semi-final clash against Leicester.

The former Premier League boss took time off his schedule to pay tribute to the late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Vichai, a Thai businessman owned Leicester City until his tragic death in 2018 when he was involved in a chopper crash.
