A semi-final spot will be up for grabs when the two teams lock horns, with Chelsea looking to defend the title having won it last season.

Michael Owen's prediction for Chelsea vs Real Madrid

Chelsea are slated to host the first leg of the fixture on Wednesday night, April 6, at Stamford Bridge, with Owen backing Thomas Tuchel's charges to emerge victors.

According to the former Premier League striker, the west Londoners will hammer Real 3-1 to take a huge step towards qualification for the last four.

While he admitted Real Madrid has a couple of players who pose a huge threat, he stuck by his word Chelsea will come out on top.

"This is a really interesting tie, particularly with these two having met in last year’s semi-final," Owen told BetVictor.
"[Karim] Benzema and Vinicius [Junior] have been brilliant this season and they will be a threat. I’m going for a Chelsea win though, 3-1," he added.

Sadio Mane reacts after matching Ronaldo's UCL record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Sadio Mane has equalled a Champions League record set by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo following his tap-in during Liverpool's 3-1 win over Benfica.

The pair have now found the back of the net 13 times in the Champions League knockout phase since the 2017/18 season.

And speaking about his goal right after the game, Mane told BT Sport:

"Like I always say, winning is more important. I am happy to score the goal but happier that the team scored three goals and we are ready for the next game."
