World Cup qualifying has been coming thick in recent days as countries from around the globe battle to secure the final spots for the tournament.
Interestingly, we will not get to know all the teams that have qualified until at least June when the inter-confederation playoffs are set to be played to decide the final spot.
However, 27 of the 32 teams set to participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later in the years have already sealed qualification for the tournament.
Germany, France, Belgium, and Brazi headline a list of football heavyweights set to compete for the prestigious title.

Europe
Europe has the highest number of slots for the tournament, with up to 13 countries eligible for qualification.
Of the 13 places available 12 have already been decided, with Portugal the latest country to sail through.

After the second round of qualifying in Asia, 12 teams qualified for the next stage and split into two pools. The top two from each group earned a place at the World Cup. The teams include:

Inter-Confederation Playoffs
Two countries are expected to join the rest of the teams that have qualified after an inter-confederation playoff.
The two play-off permutations have already been confirmed, with one of the Asian countries set to face off with a country from CONMEBOL (South America).
A CONCACAF (North America) will battle one from OFC (Oceania). Here are the fixtures:

Cristiano Ronaldo excited after World Cup qualification
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Cristiano Ronaldo has said Portugal are in their "rightful place" after they qualified for the 2022 World Cup.
Portugal had to go through two gruelling fixtures to earn their ticket for the global football extravaganza set for Qatar.
Ronaldo has now taken to social media to express his delight at seeing his home country qualify for the sixth straight World Cup since 1998.
"Goal achieved, we’re at the Qatar World Cup, we’re in our rightful place," he posted on Instagram.
