Dias has now emerged as a major doubt for the clash after he suffered a leg injury during City's FA Cup clash with Championship side, Peterborough United,

According to the Daily Mail, the versatile defender is currently undergoing tests to determine if he will be ready for the derby.

Ruben Dias is a key player for Pep Guardiola

Despite Guardiola rotating his squad heavily, Dias has proved to be an integral squad member for City, starting all but three of his side's Premier League matches this season.

As such, his absence against the Red Devils would be a major blow to the Citizens as they look to retain the domestic crown.

Nathan Ake was also forced off during the Peterborough clash, with Guardiola now likely to partner Aymeric Laporte and John Stones if Dias fails to pass the fitness test.

Premier League title race is hotting up

Meanwhile, City will be desperate to pick a favourable result against United with Liverpool hot on their heels.

The Etihad-based side are currently placed top on the standings with 66 points, six ahead of second-placed Liverpool who still have a game to play.

The Reds are scheduled to take on West Ham United on Saturday, March 5, in their own Premier League fixture.

Man United backed to finish in top four

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal legend Ian Wright has insisted Man United will finish in the top four ahead of the Gunners.

According to Wright, United have the ‘firepower’ and ‘match-winners’ to beat Arsenal to UCL qualification.

There are just two points separating the Red Devils in fourth with sixth-placed Arsenal who still have three matches in hand.
