Former Man United midfielder Ander Herrera reportedly had an offer to join Tottenham during the January transfer window but declined.
Spurs, who were desperate to bolster their squad before the window shut are said to have shown interest in the Paris Saint-Germain star.
However, according to Express UK, the Spanish star quashed that possibility owing to his loyalty to former club, Manchester United.
Tanguy Ndombele swap deal
Herrera's name is said to have been floated during talks with PSG over a potential part-exchange deal that would have seen Tanguy Ndombele move the other way.
The possibility of such a deal was however quickly extinguished by the ex-Red Devils star, who is said to have maintained that he was happy with his current situation at Parc des Princes.
Ndombele subsequently completed a loan move to Lyon where he is set to spend for the rest of the 2021/22 campaign.
In the deal, the French side have an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Herrera, meanwhile, departed Old Trafford in 2019 to join PSG after four years with the Red Devils.
The 32-year-old made 132 appearances during his stay with the Manchester-based club, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Man United stars unfollow Greenwood
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Cristiano Ronaldo has led Man United stars in unfollowing Mason Greenwood after the youngster was arrested over assault allegations.
Greenwood is understood to have spent the night in custody after the police swooped over claims made on Sunday morning, January 30.
