The Portuguese boss turned 59 on Wednesday, January 26, and had his players around him to celebrate the day.

The Sun reports Roma stars made Mourinho blow out all the candles as they surprised him with the gifts in the dressing room to mark the day.

Photos shared from the small event showed Mourinho with broad smiles as he cut a charismatic figure.

The former Man United and Chelsea boss went on to cut the cake which was themed with Roma colours amid a round of applause from players and staff.

While the legendary manager must have loved the surprise gift from his charges, he did have a perfect one on Sunday, January 23, as his side stunned Empoli 4-2 at Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The win was Roma's second successive victory having silenced Cagliari 1-0 in their last league outing.

The two crucial wins catapulted the Giallorossi to sixth on the Serie A standings with 38 points, five off a top-four place.

Haaland names top three best players

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland has shunned Cristiano Ronaldo and named Lionel Messi among the three best players in the world of 2021.

Haaland also included Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and Bayern's Robert Lewandowski in his list of top three players of 2021.

The trio of Benzema, Messi, and Lewandowski had a fantastic 2021, with each of them, except Benzema winning top individual prizes.

Lewandowski, having lost the Ballon d'Or to Messi back in November was recently named the 2021 Best FIFA Men's Player of the Year.
