In recognition of this, Sports Brief shines a spotlight on a roster of Nigerian players primed to conclude the season with silverware in hand for their respective clubs.

Nigerian players set to end the current season with title

Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella [Bayer Leverkusen]

The Nigerian pair have been instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen's historic achievement of winning their first Bundesliga title in the club's 120-year history.

The Super Eagles duo made significant contributions with numerous goals and assists, helping Xabi Alonso's side maintain an unbeaten record throughout the season.

The season could even end on a much more iconic note for the duo, as Leverkusen stand a chance to clinch an unprecedented treble if they win the UEFA Europa League and the DFB Pokal titles.

Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun [Rangers]

Dessers and Balogun form another Nigerian duo poised to finish the current season with titles.

The Super Eagles pair has propelled Rangers into the Scottish Cup final and are just three points adrift of Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership crown.

Ademola Lookman [Atalanta]

The 26-year-old appears set to cap off his outstanding season with his first trophy at Atalanta.

The Serie A club have advanced to the Coppa Italia final and ar on the brink of reaching the Europa League final. Lookman has played a pivotal role in Bergamo's club's journey this season, most notably contributing a goal and an assist in Gian Piero Gasperini's side's recent victory over Fiorentina.

Gift Orban [Lyon]

Olympique Lyon's season may not have unfolded as originally envisioned, but the team has managed to secure a spot in the French Cup final.

The impact of new signings, such as Nigeria's Gift Orban, has been significant since his arrival in the winter transfer window. He could cap off his inaugural season with a French cup title as Lyon takes on Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

Zaidu Sanusi [Porto]

Despite his season being cut short by a knee injury, the tenacious defender still has a chance to secure a title. His club side, Porto, have reached the final of the Portuguese Cup, where they will meet their rivals, Sporting CP.

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho [Leicester City]

The Leicester City duo could be adding the cherry to the top of their Premier League promotion cake by clinching the EFL Championship crown. Enzo Maresca's side could be crowned champions of the English league with a victory in their next fixture.

Bright Osayi-Samuel

The 26-year-old and his Fenerbahce side are locked in a title battle against rivals Galatasaray in the Super Lig. With only four match days remaining and just four points separating the two teams, the Nigerian defender and his Fenerbahce team have a chance to secure another league title.

Brazil icon lauds Osimhen

Sports Brief in another report stated Brazil football icon, Careca, praised Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli forward has been in immense form since his transfer to the Serie A club in 2020.
