Noah Lyles has stirred up another hornet's nest after his comment following the final of the 4x100m race at the World Relays Championships over the weekend.

The US sprint superstar led star-studded athletes at the two-day event in Nassau, Bahamas, with the United States of America winning four out of the five finals.

The event, which doubled as the Paris 2024 Olympics qualification races, set the tone for what to expect later in the year at the Summer Games.

Lyles anchored Team USA to a world-leading time of 37.40 seconds to finish ahead of an Andre De Grasse-powered Canada, who clocked 37.89 seconds.

The triple champion from the World Athletics Championships from last year dropped an 8.88-second split - the fastest of any split at the race.

Speaking after the race, the 26-year-old was quizzed about Canada's threat heading into the Olympics, which he downplayed with a hilarious 'who?' jibe. He later shared a post on his X account indicating that the USA, or himself, is getting ready for 'world domination.'

Athletics Canada fires back at Noah Lyles

Athletics Canada has now fired back at the jibe, daring the USA to another contest in Paris.

"Let's see who stands on business in Paris. Until then, here is the Men's 4x100 Relay team's World Championship performance winning [gold] on American soil."

At the 2022 World Athletics Championships held in Oregon, Canada brought the roof down in the relays final, with De Grasse powering his side to gold ahead of the hosts.

The American team at that time was made up of 2019 100m champion Christian Coleman, Lyles, Elijah Hall and Marvin-Bracy Williams. The USA would, however, reclaim the world title in 2023. Canada failed to make it out of the heats.

Tebogo: Let Lyles talk about the world records

Sports Brief also reported that Letsile Tebogo has 'withdrawn' himself from world records talk as the 2024 outdoor season reaches a fever pitch.

The Botswanan led his nation to the 4x400m gold at the World Relay championships but refused to be drawn into talk about surpassing Usain Bolt.
