Asafa Powell included some big names in his top 5 list of the greatest sprinters of all time.

The former world record holder's list had Americans and Jamaicans. Powell is in the top 5 of the fastest men in the 100m.

Powell ushered in an era of Jamaican dominance in the distance in the mid-2000s. The 41-year-old set two world records before Bolt burst onto the scene to turn it upside down.

The world bronze medallist named himself, Maurice Greene, Bolt, Tyson Gay, and Justin Gatlin in his list, per Socrates Dergi. Yohan Blake is surprisingly missing from his list.

The 2011 world champion is the second-fastest man ever. Blake clocked 9.69 seconds in 2012; no athlete has matched that mark since.

Bolt is, of course, the world record holder in the men's 100m. He clocked 9.58 seconds to win the 2009 world title at the 2009 World Athletics Championships.

Justin Gatlin won the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics, while Greene won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Gay shares his personal best with Blake. The American clocked 9.69 seconds in China in 2009. He won the 2007 world title.

Powell on Usain Bolt's world records

A few days ago, Powell was asked about the possibility of someone breaking Bolt's 100m and 200m world records, as Sports Brief earlier reported.

Powell said the 100m world record will stand for a long time, but the 200m could go down soon. Bolt won the 200m world title in 2009 with a time of 19.19 seconds.

Men's 100m history at Olympics

Sports Brief also outlined the history of the men's 100m at the Olympics ahead of the 2024 Olympics.

Americans have dominated the race since the 1896 Olympics but last won gold in 2004. Jamaica and Canada have also won gold multiple times.
