Phil Foden’s selection for his all-time Premier League XI raised some eyebrows as the midfielder somehow snubbed Kevin de Bruyne.

The 23-year old has been in stellar form this season, enjoying one of his best ever campaigns across all competitions.

With 22 goals across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side, Foden has proven to be the difference for his team for large parts of the season as City aim to become the first English club to win four Premier League titles in a row.

Foden recently took a brief break from the gruelling football campaign to do an interview with Daily Mail, where he spoke about his ascendancy in the game.

While at it, the midfielder was tasked with coming up with a starting XI he considered the greatest in the Premier League, and his selection was interesting, to say the least.

Foden’s best XI in the Premier League

In goal, the youngster went for a fairly biased pick as he selected his current teammate Ederson.

His defence was also full of Man City stars, including Kyle Walker at right back and former Cityzen Vincent Kompany.

Former Chelsea man Ashley Cole was placed at left-back, while Kompany was paired by Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

Things got more interesting in midfield, as Foden went for David Silva and former Arsenal man Patrick Vieira, whom he claimed would offer ‘protection’ for the creative Spaniard.

Cristiano Ronaldo rounded off Foden’s squad's midfield, as the midfielder went for a front three comprising three legendary Premier League strikers.

Leading the attack was Sergio Aguero, who was the seventh Man City player in Foden’s squad. Aguero would be supported by Wayne Rooney and Arsenal’s all-time goal scorer Thierry Henry.

Phil Foden’s take on Mario Balotelli

Sports Brief also reported on Phil Foden’s spot-on take on Mario Balotelli from 2010.

A video recently resurfaced of Foden criticising the former Manchester City ace, showing just how elite the midfielder was at a young age.

However, despite his obvious footballing talent, the Italian striker often made headlines for his antics with Mourinho once describing him as ‘unmanageable’.
