Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the race to sign Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen and are said to be willing to pay Napoli the €100 million asking fee.

This latest piece of transfer news means the Bavarians could hijack the signature of the Super Eagles striker from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Since the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, Bayern have been struggling in front of goals and are yet to find a good replacement for the veteran striker.

Bayern open talks with Napoli

According to a Tweet by Sky Sports reporter, Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have already opened talks with Napoli chiefs and are ready to meet their demands.

"The [24-year-old] top striker would definitely join Bayern in [the] summer! Confirmed again and today. Bayern bosses like him a lot. His management and the player are aware of it. More talks could follow in the next weeks. It’s all about the price - and [Thomas] Tuchel."

Meanwhile, Osimhen is the leading scorer in the Serie A with 21 goals, making him a certain contender for the league's golden boot.

His performance this season has attracted widespread interest.

Hoddle wants Osimhen at Chelsea

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on respected former Chelsea coach, Glenn Hoddle urging the Blues top brass to sign Osimhen up at Stamford Bridge.

The Nigerian striker has netted 25 goals for Napoli in all competitions this season, attracting interest from numerous top European clubs.

So far this term, Chelsea have not been fantastic in front of the goals, with the forwards failing to score from the few changes they are given.
