Victor Osimhen: Napoli Star Fires Back at Teammate's Agent Over Comments About His Future

After commenting on the Nigerian striker's apparent future away from Napoli, Victor Osimhen is displeased with his teammate, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli.

Osimhen had reported offers from an unnamed Saudi Pro League club in the summer, and despite the push from his compatriots, he stayed in Naples and signed a new contract.

Regardless of the new contract, reports continued to link him with a move away from the club, with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea both said to be interested.

Jugeli, speaking to the Georgian broadcaster 1TV, via EuroFoot, appeared to accuse the striker of a 'lack of ambition' by suggesting money would be the reason for his move to Saudi Arabia.

"Victor Osimhen has signed a new contract, but do you really believe he’ll play for Napoli for his entire career? I’ll tell you in advance, [Osimhen] will go to Saudi Arabia next summer. Napoli raised his salary but Kvicha wouldn’t accept such a transfer even for a billion," he said.

After claiming the Super Eagles striker would move to the Middle East for the big payday, Jugeli claimed his client has a different goal - to be successful - and listed clubs he wanted to play for.

"For example, Kvicha would prefer to play for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, or maybe Manchester City; Kvaratskhelia has different goals and preferences. He wants to be successful, and he is already having it. He is among the top 3 players in the world," he added.

Osimhen hits back at Jugeli

Osimhen, currently in Lagos and due to fly to Ivory Coast today with the Africa Cup of Nations four days away, fired back at his teammate’s representative in an Instagram story post circulating on social media.

Explicit language warning

"Dear Mamuka Jugeli, you are a piece of filth and a disgrace. I’m embarrassed at your sense of reasoning. [Expletive] KEEP MY NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!!!" he wrote.

Per FourFourTwo, Osimhen’s likely destination is said to be Chelsea. This month, an agreement could be reached for the striker to move to London in the summer.

Osimhen’s agent dropped transfer hint

Sports Brief previously reported on Osimhen’s agent speaking on his future despite signing a new contract extension with Napoli last month.

Roberto Calenda has not ruled out a move away from Naples next summer after claiming they will meet the hierarchy at the end of the season.
