Nigerian Coach Passes Instructions in Yoruba to Adekuoroye at 2022 Commonwealth

A Nigerian coach has broken the internet after being spotted speaking Yoruba to famous female wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye during the Women's Freestyle Wrestling 57 kg Gold Medal match at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The adorable video saw the coach dishing out awesome instructions at the top of his voice to Adekuoroye which helped the Nigerian star beat Anshu Malik of Team India to win Gold Medal.

It was an incredible win for the Nigerian star despite the pressure on her before the game.

In the video spotted on Twitter, the coach kept on shouting telling the 29-year-old Adekuoroye the techniques to use over her opponent.

Second after second, the coach was dishing out instructions which the wrestler adhered, making her win the big contest 6-4.

Fans took to the comment session of the video to hail the coach claiming that he actually won the fight and not the Nigerian athlete.

Speaking to Kola Daniel who was in England during the Commonwealth games, he disclosed to Sports Brief that the Nigerian coach has always been inspiring all his athletes.

Daniel was with the Nigeria's Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, in the UK for the competition.

''His name is Victor Kodei and he is one of the best trainers we have in the country as you can see that his effort helped Odunayo to win Gold for Nigeria at the Commonwealth and we are always proud of him.''

Adekuoroye marries lover of 6 years

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how impressive Nigerian weightlifter Odunayo Adekuoroye walked down the aisle with her lover of over six years at the Prophetic Church of Nigeria and Overseas in Akure, Ondo State.

The 29-year-old Olympic athlete who defended her gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham married her longtime lover, Oladimeji Aremu Iyanda.

Right after the lovers were joined together at the church, they hosted a guest reception at Christ Event Center, Akure, Ondo State.
