The Intercontinental champion Gunther came in as number one with Sheamus entering in second. The two heavyweights slugged it out before they were joined by The Miz. The former reality star attempted sneakily eliminate Sheamus before entering the ring but was made to pay once he got into the match.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods soon entered one after the other and brought their brand of humour to the ring.

The Miz became the first participant to be eliminated before Karrion Kross entered. The Harbinger of Doom was followed by Chad Gable, Drew McIntyre, Santos Escobar, Angelo Dawkins and finally The Beast, Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar’s introduction got the crowd off their feet and got a host of superstars out. Kross, Kingston, and Woods were eliminated prior to his introduction, but The Beast eliminated Escobar, Dawkins, and Gable in quick succession.

Bobbly Lashley then entered and soon got revenge on Lesnar, dumping out last year’s winner in just three minutes.

Lesnar was not happy with his short-lived stay and proceeded to cause havoc at ringside.

He F5’d Baron Corbin before he entered the ring and beat up a referee as well.

Seth Rollins and Otis were the next two entrants in the match as the rumble started to settle a bit after Lesnar’s carnage. Corbin eventually entered the ring but was soon dumped out by Rollins.

Rey Mysterio was then due to enter at number 17, but the legendary luchador never made it into the ring. His son, Dominik entered next, wearing his father’s mask, leading to speculation that he did something to Rey before the match.

Elias then made his way into the match and used his trusty guitar to smash over the back of Gunther. The Drifter only lasted 39 seconds as he was on the receiving end of both a Brogue Kick and Claymore before he was dumped out.

Finn Balor then entered and teamed up with Dominik to eliminate Gargano. The first big surprise of the night came when Booker T entered the match. The NXT commentator hit a few classic moves before Gunther ended his night.

Damian Priest then entered, strengthening The Judgement Day’s chances. The trio wreaked havoc in the match, taking control before Montez Ford entered. Ford’s run didn’t last too long as he was dumped over the top rope by Priest.

The match then really kicked off with the introduction of Edge. The Rated R superstar was looking for revenge on Judgement Day and following three Spears, he got rid of Balor and Priest.

He then tried to eliminate Dominik but Balor on the outside pulled him over the top rope, eliminating him.

Edge, Balor and Priest continued their battle on the entrance ramp before Rhea Ripley took out Edge. Her showboating didn’t last long as Beth Phoenix returned to take out Mami.

Austin Theory and Omos then entered, with The Nigerian Giant dominating the match until Braun Strowman made his way in at number 27.

The two massive men traded blows in the middle of the ring before Strowman got the best of Omos. Ricochet entered at 28th, bringing some fast-paced action to the match. Gunther, who entered first, then eliminated both Sheamus and McIntyre before Logan Paul entered the ring.

The social media star soon became the target of most of the superstars in the ring, but despite their best efforts to throw him out, Paul held his own. That was until he ran into Strowman. The Monster Among Men soon overpowered Paul. Cody Rhodes then made his triumphant return to the ring at number 30, soon eliminating Dominik.

Paul and Ricochet then produced one of the most insane spots of the night as they collided in midair.

With all the participants officially in the match, the eliminations came thick and fast. Rhodes eliminated Strowman while Theory took care of Ricochet.

The United States champion was then dumped out after some smart work by Rollins and Rhodes. The two rivals then tried to outdo one another as they targeted Gunther. With the big man out of the way, they continued their battle against each other before Paul snuck back into the ring.

The social media star, who some forgot about, eliminated Rollins before he was eliminated by The American Nightmare.

That set up a battle between Gunther and Rhodes, the number one and number 30 entries.

Gunther and Rhodes put on an instant classic, with The American Nightmare showing his resilience, refusing to be eliminated by the Intercontinental champion. Rhodes took a beating before he hit the Cross Rhodes and finally eliminated the champion to win the Rumble.

Cody Rhodes returns to WWE

Cody Rhodes finally returned to the WWE, and on the grandest stage of them all.

The American Nightmare made his return after six years away, taking on Seth Rollins.

The duo put on a classic match in which Rhodes picked up the win, Sports Brief reported previously.
