Adonis Lattimore, an American teen born without legs and just four fingers on one hand has beaten all odds to become a state wrestling champion.
The 17-year-old wrestler finished first in the 106-pound weight category during the Virginia High School League Class 6.
According to Bleacher Report, Lattimore earned a 4-3 victory over Robinson's Caden Smith in the semifinal to set up a crunch final with Korlan Tran from Lake Braddock who he beat 5-1.
Adonis Lattimore reveals his motivation
Speaking after his victory, Lattimore attributed his moment of stardom to hard work, describing his win as "motivating."
"Really if you work hard, you can do anything - even win a state championship without legs," he told The Virginian-Pilot.
"It's pretty motivating just to prove them wrong, and just to prove to myself that I can do anything I set out to do," he added.
Lattimore's journey to glory
According to The Sun, Lattimore had narrowly missed out on a regional championship where he finished as a runner-up.
However, undeterred, the teenage sensation staged a comeback during the Virginia Beach Sports Center to complete his six-year mission.
"Years of work, perseverance, pushing through. He is a testament to what it is to push through," his father said after Lattimore's victory.
