UFC fighter Jessica-Rose Clark and Australian rugby player Tom Banks will have to sit out of their respective sports for a while after suffering painful misfortune on Saturday.

In a rugby Test match between the Wallabies and England at the Optus Stadium in Perth that Sports Brief observed, fullback Banks went up to contest a kick off. After missing the ball, he landed awkwardly, visibly suffering a broken forearm. The watching crowd in the stadium and those at home winced and groaned at the graphic replay, applauding when the 28-year-old was substituted.

Despite this setback, the hosts went on to defeat the visitors 30-28 in the first of three Test matches, their first win against the English since the 2015 Rugby World Cup that the latter hosted.

Later, Clark experienced the exact same pain in a bantamweight fight against Lithuanian fighter Juliaj Storialenko. Clark had to tap out towards the end of the first round after her opponent effected an arm bar manoeuvre on her, breaking her arm at the joint.

The result dropped the American's record to 11-8-0, while Storialenko moved to 10-7-2.

Hip hop superstar Drake has ramped up the pressure on Israel Adesanya as he prepares to defend his UFC middleweight title against challenger Jarred Cannonier.

As reported by Sports Brief, the fight headlined UFC 276 to be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in Nevada.

Drake shared a clip of him speaking to Adesanya in a FaceTime call, telling him that he put $1 million in a bet that he would defeat Cannonier.
