Casper Ruud and Ons Jabeur booked their spots in the second round of the French Open after recording convincing wins on Tuesday.
Ruud and Jabeur won their respective first-round matches in straight sets.
Ruud needed just two hours and seven minutes to record a 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Swedish qualifier Elias Ymer.
Last year’s French Open finalist blasted 28 winners and won 70 percent of his first serve points against Ymer, per Roland Garros.
What proved to be the difference in the match, however, was the Norwegian’s return.
Ruud won 52 percent of his receiving points against Ymer, with the No. 4 seed converting eight of his 16 break-point opportunities.

FootballJabeur advanced to the second round after beating Lucia Bronzetti 6-4, 6-1. The Tunisian star needed just one hour and 10 minutes to record the first-round win.
Many expected a tough test for Jabeur, as Bronzetti was coming off her first WTA Tour title in Rabat last week.
There were also some question marks regarding Jabeur’s health after a calf injury forced her to retire in the Stuttgart semis and pull out of the Madrid Masters, where she is the defending champion.
Jabeur laid those concerns to rest, blasting 27 winners in the first round. She won 53 percent of her receiving points against Bronzetti, converting six of her 13 break-point chances.
Jabeur will face Oceane Dodin in the second round. The Frenchwoman defeated wild card Selena Janicijevic 0-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round.
