The Boston Celtics are on the cusp of NBA history. Derrick White's buzzer-beating game-winner saw them force Game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat.

The Celtics' season looked bleak after going 0-3 down in the series but have roared back to tie the series and will be looking to become the first team to erase a 0-3 deficit in NBA playoff history.

With two-tenths of a second remaining, White inbounded the ball on the final possession for the Celtics. After Marcus Smart missed the jumper from his pass, White sunk the putback just as the buzzer sounded, giving the Celtics an epic 104-103 victory in Game 6.

Game 7 will be in Boston at TD Garden, and the Celtics could make history. The Celtics became the fourth NBA team to force a Game 7 after falling behind 3-0 in a best-of-7 series.

White reacts to wild game-winner

White finished with 11 points 4 rebounds, and 6 assists in 42 minutes. Most importantly, he scored the most important point in his career, a game-winner in Game 6.

“Just happy we won. Whatever it takes, our backs against the wall, just happy we won,” White said. “We’re a resilient group. We pick each other up. We fought for each other. Job isn’t done yet. We’ve got a tough one in Game 7 and we need to find a way to get one more win here,” via Clutchpoints.

White is the second player ever to hit a winning shot at the buzzer in a playoff game when his team was trailing.

The only other player to accomplish this feat is Michael Jordan, who drained a buzzer-beater in Game 5 of the Chicago Bulls' first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989, per NBC Sports.

Jayson Tatum, who had 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists, was shocked.

"I'm still in disbelief," Tatum said. "That (expletive) was crazy," via ESPN.

Who's forced Games 6, 7?

Sports Brief earlier reported on teams that forced a Game 6 and Game 7 after going 0-3 down in the playoffs.

NBA teams are 0-149 when trailing 3-0 in a best-of-seven series.

After Celtics' Game 5 win, 12 NBA teams have now forced a Game 6. Only three teams in NBA history have forced a Game 7.
