After starting the season 2-10 and having to go through the play-in tournament, the Lakers are now four games away from the NBA finals, their first since 2020.

Moreover, the Lakers made wholesale changes to their roster midway through the season. In Game 6, they were led by 20-year veteran LeBron James who finished with 30 points on 10-for-14 shooting, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. He ended a streak of 18 straight playoff games scoring under 30 points.

How the Lakers won Game 6

The hosts made a 27-10 to start the game, but the Warriors cut it to five at the start of the second quarter. The Lakers had a solid 56-46 lead in the first half after a buzzer-beater from Austin Reaves, who finished with 23 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, per ESPN.

Anthony Davis, who left Game 5 with an apparent head injury, was great too. He had 17 points and 10 of his 20 rebounds, per the Athletic.

The Lakers extended their lead to 19 points in the third quarter before the defending champions cut it to 11 in the fourth quarter. The Lakers then made an 11-0 run to seal the win.

Stephen Curry finished with 32 points. Donte DiVincenzo was the only other Warrior who scored in double figures.

The Lakers are only the second No. 7 seed to reach the conference finals after the Seattle SuperSonics in 1987. They will now appear in their 42nd conference finals in franchise history.

Air Corg predicts Lakers vs. Warriors

Sports Brief earlier reported on a dog correctly predicting the first five games of the Lakers vs. Warriors series.

Lilo, also known as Steph Furry and Fluffy Mamba, the dog used a trick shot video to predict the winner of each game between the Lakers and the Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals.

She predicted the Warriors would win in seven games, but the KLakers proved her wrong by ending the series in six games.
