After signing with the New York Knicks in free agency last summer, some doubted if Brunson would be able to produce as the leading point guard for his new team.
He is having a fantastic season averaging 23.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. Furthermore, his name has been prominent in the Most Improved Player award conversations.
9. Tyrese Haliburton
The Indiana Pacers star has grown into one of the most exciting young point guards in the NBA. The 23-year-old made his first All-Star appearance in February and continues to excel.
He's averaging 20.7 points and 10.4 assists per game. The young star is also a candidate for the Most Improved Player award.
8. James Harden
Although not in his prime, the 33-year-old has been quietly producing great performances alongside MVP candidate, Joel Embiid for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is the NBA leader for assists per game with 10.9.
7. Kyrie Irving
The 2016 NBA champion has had a few off-court issues this season, but he's always performed when called upon. He recently made his eighth All-Star appearance and is expected to help in the Dallas Mavericks' push for a playoff spot.

The Atlanta Hawks recently underwent a coaching change but that hasn't stopped Trae Young from producing great performances. He's averaging 26.5 points and 10 assists per game and will need to continue if the Hawks want the playoffs.

Morant is having another phenomenal campaign. However, his season was put in serious jeopardy after his IG Live video, which showed Morant flaunting a gun, per CBS Sports. He's back with his Memphis Grizzlies team and looks to help them make a deep playoff run.

De'Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings have been the story of the 2022/23 season. Fox made his first appearance in the All-Star game, while the Kings, under Mike Brown, have qualified for the playoffs after a 16-season absence, per ESPN. Much of that is owed to Fox.
3. Stephen Curry
There are no superlatives left to describe Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors superstar is still doing it on the biggest stage at 35 years old. He is the reigning Finals MVP and will be attempting to win title #5.

The Portland Trail Blazers superstar has had several historic performances this season. He has three 50-point games this season and is averaging 32.2 points in the NBA. However, it looks like his team will miss out on the playoff this season.

The Dallas Mavericks are fighting to make the playoffs this season and have struggled in the last few games. Doncic is undoubtedly the best point guard in the NBA this season. His scoring has been phenomenal but he will need to step it up if the Mavs are to make the playoffs.
