Kyrie Irving turned 31 on March 23, and messages of goodwill have been pouring in for the NBA superstar.

The Mavs point guard’s age may be advancing, but he is still one of the best players in the league today.

To commemorate Irving’s birthday, Sports Brief looks at all the 50-point games he has racked up in his illustrious NBA career.

1. Irving scores 60 vs. Orlando

Irving delivered a performance for the ages on March 15, 2022, scoring a career-high 60 points in Brooklyn’s 150-108 win over the Orlando Magic.

He shot 20 of 31 from the field, including 8 of 12 from beyond the arc, per NBC Sports. Irving also knocked down 12 of his 13 free throw attempts in the statement win.

2. Irving drops 57 vs. Spurs

Irving left LeBron James in awe with his spectacular play against the San Antonio Spurs on March 12, 2015. He torched the defending champions, scoring a then-career-high 57 points in Cleveland’s 128-125 win.

He was unstoppable down the stretch, scoring nine points in the final minute of regulation and then 11 points in overtime to give the Cavs the comeback win.

3. Irving scores 55 vs. Blazers

Irving was unstoppable against the Blazers on January 28, 2015, scoring a career-high 55 points in Cleveland’s 99-94 win. He was electric from outside, hitting a franchise-record 11 3-pointers.

Irving stepped up in the absence of James, who was sidelined due to an injured wrist. He shot 17 of 36 from the field, including 11 of 19 from beyond the arc.

4. Irving drops 54 vs. Chicago

Irving admitted that he channeled his mamba mentality on January 31, 2020, when he exploded for 54 points in a 133-118 win over the Bulls.

He shot 19 of 23 from the field against Chicago. Irving was red-hot in the first half, making all ten field goal attempts in the opening two quarters.

5. Kyrie scores 50 vs. Minnesota

Irving entertained the crowd in his Nets debut, racking up 50 points in Brooklyn’s 127-126 overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 23, 2019.

He shot 17 of 33 from the field, including 7 of 14 from the 3-point area. Irving could have won the contest for Brooklyn but missed the potential game-winner after losing his balance.

6. Irving drops 50 vs. Charlotte

Irving impressed Durant in Brooklyn’s game against Charlotte on March 8, 2022. He scored 50 points against the Hornets, leading Durant to call his performance a master class.

He shot 15 of 19 from the field, including 9 of 12 from beyond the arc. Irving also made 11 of his 13 free throws.

Suns edge past Mavs

Sports Brief recently reported on the Mavs’ loss to the Suns.

Devin Booker and Luka Doncic traded barbs in that contest, which Phoenix won 130-126.

The Mavs had no answer for Kevin Durant and Booker, who combined for 73 points.
