Scoring is up in the NBA this 2022-23 season, particularly among the league's superstars.

There have been 23 50-point games this campaign, with the NBA on pace to set a new record for 50-point outings in a single season.

Here’s a look at the players who have recorded the most 50-point games this season.

Luka Doncic (4 times)

When it comes to hitting the half-century scoring mark in games this season, Luka Doncic is the king. He has racked up four 50-point outings this campaign and three of those came in an eight-day span late in 2022.

Doncic recorded his first 50-point performance this season against the Houston Rockets on December 23. He fell two boards shy of a triple-double, recording 50 points, eight rebounds, and ten assists in Dallas’ 112-106 win.

He continued his hot scoring four days later against the New York Knicks. Doncic was on fire in this contest, scoring a career-high 60 points in the Mavs’ 126-121 win, per BBC News.

He made history in this game, becoming the first NBA player to record a 60-point, 20-rebound triple-double.

Doncic ended the year with a bang, racking up 51 points in Dallas’ 126-125 win over the San Antonio Spurs on December 31.

Doncic’s fourth 50-point game came in against the Detroit Pistons on January 30, 2023. He scored 53 points, shooting 17 of 24 from the field and 14 of 18 from the free throw line.

Doncic became the fourth NBA player to post four 50-point games before February.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (3 times)

The 'Greek Freak' started the year with an incredible performance, scoring a career-high 55 points in Milwaukee’s 123-113 win over the Washington Wizards on January 3. He also grabbed ten rebounds and dished out seven assists in that game.

He scored 50 in the Bucks’ 135-110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on January 29 and managed to score that many points in just 30 minutes of action. Antetokounmpo was highly efficient, shooting 20 of 26 from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.

He recorded his third 50-point game this season on February 3 against the Clippers. Antetokounmpo scored 54 points in the Bucks’ thrilling 106-105 win. He also had 19 rebounds in this contest.

Damian Lillard (3 times)

Lillard opened his 50-point account this season on January 12 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He scored exactly 50 points in the Blazers’ 119-113 loss.

Lillard scored 60 points in the 134-124 win over the Utah Jazz on January 26. He was on fire in this contest, amassing 50 points in the first three quarters.

Dame Time nearly broke the internet on February 26, with Lillard scoring a career-high 71 points in Portland’s 131-114 victory over the Houston Rockets.

He became the second player to score 71 this season, matching the feat of Donovan Mitchell earlier this year.

Randle erupts for 57 points

Sports Brief recently reported on Julius Randle’s 50-point game for the Knicks.

He scored a career-high 57 points in New York’s slim 140-134 loss to Minnesota.

Randle is NY's first to score at least 55 and make at least eight 3-pointers in a game.
