  • The 18-year-old is still in high school and cannot play in the NBA until the 2024/25 season under the current league rules
  • The Los Angeles Lakers star has said a few times that he wants to play with his son in the NBA

LeBron James's 18-year-old son Bronny is not yet in the NBA, but his father claims he is better than some of the NBA players he watches on League Pass.

Bronny is still in high school at Sierra Canyon and is eligible for the NBA draft in 2024 under the current league rules.

Bronny is definitely talented. ESPN recently projected him as a top-10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and it will be interesting to watch the guard develop his game.

The Los Angeles Lakers star has attended many of his son's games, and the youngster has already become a national sensation. If your father is NBA's all-time leading scorer, that is expected.

James bold claim about Bronny

The 38-year-old has not played in the Lakers' last few games due to injury. However, he grabbed the headlines on Monday with an interesting Tweet.

He said that his son was better than some of the NBA players on the court on Monday.

"Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today. (Expletive) lightweight hilarious."

It is not clear who James was referring to, but there were six games on Monday. Some fans felt he was referring to Boston Celtics player Grant Williams who missed clutch free throws against the Cleveland Cavaliers, per Clutchpoints.

There were mixed reactions to the Tweet, which went viral, garnering over 76,000 likes.

James wants to play with Bronny

Sports Brief earlier reported on James revealing his ambition to play with his son when he joins the NBA.

Bronny is not eligible to play in the NBA until the 2024/25 season under the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement. He added that his son will have to work hard to make it to the NBA.

Waiting for his son to play with him in the NBA, would require the four-time champion to continue playing until his 22nd NBA season, which would tie Vince Carter for the most in league history.
