Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry is set to sell his 25% stake to Cleveland Browns Jimmy and Dee Haslam.

The stake is reportedly valued at $3.5 billion. Haslam will join the ownership group with current co-owner Wes Edens following a protracted process that includes several meetings between the parties.

During the process, Haslam was courtside for several Bucks games, including Sunday's (February 26) impressive victory over the Phoenix Suns and their win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 30.

Edens and Lasry purchased the 2021 NBA champions from Herb Kohl in 2014 for $550 million. As part of the deal, Kohl pledged to donate $100 million to help build a new arena to ensure the team remains in Milwaukee.

The arena was finally opened in 2018, leading to immense business success around the building, per the Athletic.

Success for Bucks under Lasry

The Bucks have gradually grown into an NBA powerhouse under Lasry's co-ownership, peaking in 2021 when they won the NBA title, beating the Suns in six games.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team has been a perennial contender for the last few years and are one of the favorites to win it this year. The Greek star won back-to-back MVP awards in 2019 and 2020.

Their title in 2021 was their first since 1971.

Who are the Haslams?

The Haslams made their fortune through Pilot Flying J truck stop chain and want to increase their sports ownership. They bought the Browns in 2012 and recently bought MLS side Colombus Crew, per ESPN.

Since taking over the Browns, the team put together a dismal 55-113-1 record and make just one playoff appearance in 2020.

Is Giannis becoming injury-prone?

Sports Brief recently reported on the injury Antetokounmpo picked up against the Heat. He left the game with 1:13 remaining in the first quarter.

The Greek Freak was listed on the injury report before the game because of the right wrist sprain he suffered before the All-Star break.

The excellent news for Antetokounmpo and the Bucks is that his injury is reportedly nothing serious and is considered day-to-day.
