The 28-year-old has grown to be one of the best basketball players in the world. He won two straight MVP awards in 2019 and 2020 before producing an epic performance to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the 2021 NBA title.

He scored 50 in Game 6 of the 2021 Finals to seal the title. Furthermore, he was awarded with the Finals MVP. Last year, he was named in NBA's Top 75 players of all time, which is an astonishing achievement considering he's only in his 10th NBA season.

Antetokounmpo reacts to All-Star announcement

Shortly after the starters were named, the Bucks forward posted a picture on his social media handles with him doing a salute while wearing a radiant smile.

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant was tipped to be captain, but an MCL sprain on January 8th may have affected his fan vote. The last time Durant played in the All-Star Game was in 2019, per ESPN.

The forward is averaging 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5.3 assists this season for the Bucks, who are third in the Eastern Conference.

Antetokounmpo matches NBA icons

Sports Brief earlier reported on Antetokounmpo recently matching NBA legends Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor with a ridiculous stat.

He joins them as the only players in NBA history with back-to-back games of at least 40 points, 20 rebounds and five assists.

Chamberlain did it five times and Baylor once, with Chamberlain the last to achieve that in January 6-7, 1966. This season, the 'Greek Freak' has eight 40-point games in the NBA.
