Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was back to his usual self against the Celtics as he hit an insane shot at the buzzer to end the half.

The Warriors suffered a 121-118 overtime loss in a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals. Steve Kerr's team had won the first leg of the series in December.

Curry scored 29 points for the visitors in 43 minutes, and it looks like he is back to his best after missing nearly a month with a shoulder injury. The defending NBA champions are 9th in the Western Conference with a 22-23 record.

The defense of their title has not gone to plan so far but against the Celtics, they looked like a competitive team in most parts of the game. They had 16 turnovers which led to 17 points for the Celtics.

Curry's half-court shot

As the clock ticked towards halftime, Curry produced a miraculous play that not only went viral on Twitter but stunned Celtics fans at TD Garden.

Klay Thompson lost the ball after a Curry pass and Jayson Tatum ran down the floor, Curry stole the ball, but time was running out, per SI.

After securing the ball with seconds left, he made a half-court shot as the buzzer sounded to end the first half. Curry has made quite a few buzzer-beaters in his career but the long three is a trademark Curry shot.

Curry and the Dubs were making their first trip to Boston since beating them in Game 6 of last season's NBA Finals. The 34-year-old is averaging 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game this season, per Statmuse.

Why Curry is the modern Michael Jordan

Sports Brief earlier reported on Warriors Steve Kerr comparing Curry to Michael Jordan, calling him the modern Michael Jordan after the point guard received MVP chants against the Washington Wizards.

With 28 seconds left in the game, Curry was greeted with loud MVP chants after an epic performance at the Capitol One Arena. As Curry was getting ready to take a free throw, he smiled as the intensity of the chants continued to grow.

Kerr played with Jordan at the Chicago Bulls in their heydays in the 1990s and has been coaching Curry for nine seasons now.
