Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum has revealed he had a conversation with Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green following the Celtics' painful loss in the 2022 NBA Finals loss.

The Celtics lost in Game 6 of the finals with some fans pointing blame at Tatum for his performance during the game as the reason they lost.

Tatum's exceptional playoff run saw him lead the Celtics against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks and Jimmy Butler vanquishing them all.

He was named the Eastern Conference MVP but the finals were a different story, especially coming up against the grit and experience of Green and the Warriors, per the Athletic.

Since their dynasty began in 2015, they had lost two playoff series. The 2016 and the 2019 NBA Finals. In the end, Tatum felt how difficult it was to play against veterans.

Tatum and Green conversation

According to ESPN, Tatum revealed he had a long talk with Green, who he says are close to about many things but most importantly the finals and life.

Draymond shared why it is hard to win an NBA championship and try and run it back.

"He wasn't rubbing it in or anything. We just talked about the Finals, about life, about him getting married."

He added that the Warriors forward told him how difficult it was to get back up and go on another run.

"It's going to be different. We have to start all the way over. Everybody got to be committed. Everybody got to be ready because it's not going to be easy. It's not a guarantee that we get back."

The 24-year-old forward is having yet another terrific season. He is averaging 30.6 points per game which is the fifth-best in the league.

The Celtics are preparing for a Christmas Day showdown with the Bucks, a rematch of last year's second-round series.

Tatum on why the Warriors beat them

Sports Brief earlier reported on Tatum brilliantly explaining why the Warriors beat them in the 2022 NBA Finals.

He said the Warriors were mentally tougher and had the experience of playing in big moments and therefore didn't panic.

Tatum was stifled in Game 6, scoring only 13 points as Stephen Curry and the Dubs closed the series.
