Wade, Chris Bosh and James shared four years in Miami, and with Bosh already part of the Hall of Fame, it is only a matter of time before the LA Lakers star retires and joins his peers.

Wade wasn't the only one nominated, with Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich among the nominees eligible for induction, per Hoop Hall.

James' message to Wade

The Big 3 of the Heat, popularly known as the Heatles, played together from 2010 to 2014.

They went to the NBA Finals for four consecutive years, although the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs prevented them from a three-peat.

James took to Twitter to send his friend a lovely message ahead of next year's induction ceremony.

"Congrats to my brother @DwyaneWade on being on the eligible candidate HOF list!! I mean he ain't no candidate, he's IN!!!!! Hahaha!"

The enshrinement ceremony is set to take place in August next year. Wade won three NBA titles.

The 40-year-old was drafted by the Heat in 2003 and is their all-time leader in points, games played, minutes played, assists and steals, per Miami Herald.

His accomplishments include the three championships with the Heat in 2006, 2012 and 2013, a Finals MVP award in 2006, and an NBA scoring title in the 2008/09 season.

Wade nominated for 2023 HOF

Sports Brief earlier reported on Wade being nominated to the NBA 2023 Hall of Fame, alongside greats like Gasol, Nowitzki, Popovich and Parker.

It will be one of the most high-profile classes, especially if Popovich and Parker go together. They were part of San Antonio's dynasty which won four NBA rings.

Heat icon Wade is a first-time nominee since he's been retired from the 2018/19 season. For one to be eligible for the HOF, a player must be fully retired for four full seasons.
