  • The mother of formula 1 champion Max Verstappen, Sophie Kumpen, has stoked fires after the Red Bull team controversy in Brazil last weekend
  • Kumpen has accused Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez of being unfaithful to his wife of four tears Carola Martinez
  • The Instagram reply has since been deleted as Red Bull struggles to deal with the fallout ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The squabble between Red Bull Racing teammates is seemingly not over after Max Verstappen's mother, Sophie Kumpen, accused Sergio Perez of infidelity.

The two teammates had a minor fallout last weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix after Verstappen refused to cede his position for Perez.

Verstappen defied a direct team order despite having wrapped up the Formula 1 title weeks ago at the Suzuka Grand Prix. Perez, meanwhile, was in dire need of better points as he vies for P2 from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Perez was bitter with Verstappen after the race. Sports Brief reported that controversy and lack of team spirit has hit the Red Bull camp after Max Verstappen deliberately refused to let his teammate Sergio Perez through. Speaking after the race, Perez expressed his frustration with Verstappen, saying the Belgian-Dutch driver had 'shown who he really is.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was quick to clarify that the two had ironed out theor issues and Verstappen would help Perez were necessary in the last race of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

But the beef is seemingly not over after Kumpen wrote on Instagram that Perez is a cheater before deleting the reply, as Daily Mail reports. Claims of unfaithfulness to his wife, Carola Martinez, have rocked Perez in the past.

A video of the Mexican driver getting up close with ladies on a yacht after winning the Monaco Grand Prix this year forced him to apologise to his wife. His teammate's mother was replying to a video on Instagram that was criticising Verstappen for not letting him pass.

It would be interesting to see how the two coordinate in Abu Dhabi as Red Bull plots for their first-ever 1-2 finish with the title and constructors championship already secured.

Did Sergio Perez help Max Verstappen win F1 titles?

Sports Brief had earlier reported that the Brazil Grand Prix in Sao Paulo over the weekend was rocked by claims of Max Verstappen's selfishness.

The reigning Formula 1 champion ignored a team order to allow his Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez to pass. The 'After all I have done for him', phrase from the Mexican driver has now become famous. The statement could be loosely translated to mean that Perez has had a hand in Verstappen's two titles.

How true is Perez's claim? Has he really played a part in Verstappen's triumphs, or is the Dutch driver a one-man army? Well, be the judge.
