Victor Osimhen has delivered a clear message to clubs monitoring his situation: he is not going anywhere. The Nigerian forward, 27, publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to Galatasaray SK on 30 April 2026, expressing deep personal and professional satisfaction in Istanbul that appears to place any summer transfer in serious doubt.

“I think I’ve found a home here where I am comfortable,” Osimhen stated. “This club is family. It’s love, unity, and utmost respect.” He also noted that both his family and close friends share his contentment in Turkey, reinforcing the sincerity of his commitment beyond the professional sphere.

The declaration carries significant weight given the level of reported interest surrounding the striker. According to reports, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF — two of the clubs most frequently linked with Osimhen — had scouts present during Galatasaray’s recent derby fixture against Fenerbahce SK, underlining just how closely Europe’s elite had been tracking his development.

Osimhen’s output at Galatasaray has made such attention entirely understandable. Across 72 appearances for the Istanbul club, the Super Eagles captain has registered 57 goals and 15 assists, a return that has established him as one of the most productive strikers on the continent during his time in Turkey. The figures build on the reputation he cemented at SSC Napoli, where his performances were central to the club’s first Serie A title in 33 years during the 2022-23 season.

Financial realities are likely to compound the difficulties for any interested party. Galatasaray are reportedly unwilling to consider offers below nine figures for the striker, while Osimhen’s current contract — understood to be worth approximately €21 million net per season — makes him the highest-paid player in Turkish football. Few clubs outside of the very top tier of European football would be positioned to match that package, and even those that could would face resistance from a player who has publicly stated his satisfaction with his current situation.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli at the start of the 2024-25 campaign after a proposed transfer to Al-Ahli SFC collapsed late in the 2024 summer window. His subsequent performances prompted Galatasaray to pursue a permanent deal, with the Turkish champions eventually securing his long-term services. Since then, he has grown into one of the club’s most important figures and a firm fan favourite at the RAMS Park stadium.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Osimhen’s comments are likely to cool — at least temporarily — the speculation that has surrounded him for much of the season. Whether Barcelona, Real Madrid, or other European clubs elect to test Galatasaray’s valuation with a formal bid remains to be seen, but the striker’s own position appears unambiguous for now.
