  • The case of Tim Sukazi versus Orlando Pirates has been delayed to the end of March by the Premier Soccer League
  • The TS Galaxy owner and chairman was manhandled by Pirates security in a ugly incident before a DStv Premiership match in December at the Orlando Stadium
  • PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu, up to his neck with various other cases besetting the league, warned both clubs that this one wouldn't be postponed any further

Overworked Premier Soccer League prosecutor Tim Sukazi said that Orlando Pirates will have to answer for the incident involving TS Galaxy owner and chairman Tim Sukazi on 23 and 24 March.

Sukazi was seen being handled rather roughly by Orlando Pirates security before a DStv Premiership match between the two sides last December. He had allegedly failed to follow Covid-19 protocols.

Majavu revealed the Buccaneers' testimony will be heard on 23 and 24 March, with the Disciplinary Committee informing the clubs the case will not be postponed any further.

According to Soccer Laduma, Majavu warned that the case could not be postponed any further, saying:

"The league's case, meaning its testimony, against Orlando Pirates arising from its denial of the chairman of TS Galaxy's entry at Orlando Stadium was finalised today. The matter is now postponed to 23 and 24 March for further hearing, where at Orlando Pirates will lead it's own testimony in defence.
"DC issued an express directive that the matter will not be postponed further and both parties directed to ensure that the matter is indeed finalised on those two subsequent dates."

Another side show has developed that the PSL has to solve. Royal AM and Chippa United committed a cardinal sin that continues to undermine local and continental football; that of fielding ineligible players.

Majavu said:

"Royal AM has been charged will be appearing before the DC on 7 March 2022 at 12h00 to answer for charges of fielding an ineligible player in the name of Mr. Phulani Khumalo, who was ineligible to play, having received four cautions.
"Thirdly, Chippa United Football Club will also be appearing before the PSL DC to answer to similar charges in that they fielded a player Ridwaan Serfontein having received four cautions. "That matter will be heard by the DC on 3 March at 18h00."

Premier Soccer League explains why TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi was denied Orlando Stadium entry

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has given reason on why TS Galaxy chairman was denied entry into Orlando Stadium's field ahead of the club's DSTV Premiership match against Orlando Pirates.

As reported Sports Brief, pideos posted on the club's Twitter page showed Sukazi and stadium security officials manhandling one another, before police came in to calm matters. Galaxy went on to lose the match 0-2.

Many theories developed as to what the brouhaha was all about, and it took until yesterday for PSL's chief operating officer to explain the fracas.
