  • Antonio Conte left Tottenham Hotspur on mutual consent after 16 months in charge
  • The Italian damaged many relationships publicly with his rant after his final game
  • Conte and Richarlison had a clash of words after the UCL elimination by AC Milan

Antonio Conte is a reputably hot-headed manager who has clashed with the hierarchy at almost all clubs he has managed, and the manner of his departure from Tottenham Hotspur proves this.

His explosive rant after Spurs surrendered a 3-1 lead in the final minutes of the draw against relegation-threatened Southampton was to be expected and probably the final straw for his bosses.

Conte was due to be out of a job in North London by the end of the season anyway, but it was mutually agreed he be relieved of his duties due to the damaged relationship between him, the board, and some of his players.

Richarlison denies mutiny against Conte

Tottenham splashed out £60 million to sign Richarlison from Everton in the summer but he has struggled to settle in and is yet to score a Premier League goal.

Marca reported that the player and his manager had a war of words after the Champions League elimination to AC Milan, with the Brazilian forward hitting out at Conte to prompt a remarkable response at a press conference.

This led to reports of a mutiny against the Italian by the former Watford player. The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup goal of tournament winner took to Twitter to refute the claims and brand them as lies, as reported by Metro UK.

Son apologises to Conte

In related news, Sports Brief reported on Spurs forward, Heung-Min Son apologising to Conte, saying he feels responsible for the manager's sacking.

The South Korean has been in inconsistent form this season, scoring just six times including a treble in the 6-2 win over Leicester City last October.

Son stated he felt responsible for Conte leaving the club, describing the Italian as a world-class manager and expressed gratitude for his time there.
