His side ended up coming from the two goals down to secure a 4-2 victory, and the former Everton star has since taken to social media with an emotional message after getting heavily booed during the game.

"You saved my life. Thats why I will always love you." He wrote in a message directed to his football career.

As reported on Daily Star, Alli is of Nigerian descent and he grew up with his mother in England.

However, he had a short stint with his father in Nigeria from the age of nine but the two had some sort of falling out.

In 2016, while he was a rising star at Tottenham, he decided against having his father’s surname at the back of his shirt.

Alli’s latest stint in England saw him join Everton, but his continued lack of form saw him loaned out to Besiktas by Frank Lampard.

In nine appearances as a Besiktas player, he has managed two goals.

Man United pen another farewell message to CR7

Sports Brief also reported on how Manchester United penned another farewell message to Cristiano Ronaldo, weeks after ripping up his contract.

The Premier League giants terminated Ronaldo's contract during the World Cup, with the club announcing at the time the decision had been reached after a mutual agreement.

United printed out a cold 81-word farewell to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner in the matchday programme for the Burnley clash but there was no mention of the star forward in Ten Hag's notes.
