Harry Kane: Throwback to When Tottenham Hotspur Star Played As Goalkeeper
- Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has had immense success in scoring and creating goals at the top level
- He will be England's beacon of hope when the World Cup takes centre stage in Qatar later in November
- However, the acclaimed striker once volunteered to play as a goalkeeper after Hugo Lloris had been red-carded in a Europa League game
Harry Kane has built a reputation for himself as one of the most potent strikers in world football. The Tottenham Hotspur man has been a regular source of goals for his side since he made his debut officially in 2015, after various loan spells.
He is also a revered playmaker who has the ability to drop deep and supply passes. His partnership with Son Heung-min has been unplayable in the Premier League.
However, Kane has also played as a goalkeeper - albeit under forceful circumstances. As he was just starting to get into sync with life at a top-six club in 2014, Kane was forced to play as a goalkeeper for a few minutes.
Spurs were playing Greek opposition Asteras Tripolis in the group stages of the Europa League. Kane had just bagged a hat-trick, but in the 87th minute, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was given a red card.

With Spurs having used all their substitutes, Kane volunteered to stand in for the remaining minutes. The England international conceded a goal late on, but the game was already safe with a 5-1 scoreline in favour of the North London side.
As Goal reports, other outfield players to have stepped in as goalkeepers include Kyle Walker, Rio Ferdinand, Dani Alves and John O'Shea.
Bayern Munich want to sign Kane
Sports Brief had previously reported that Bayern Munich were ready to break the bank to sign a new frontman. The German giants didn’t replace Robert Lewandowski with an out-and-out striker and are looking to rectify that soon.
The lack of a designated striker appears to have affected the side, with Bayern struggling for goals of late.
They now have their eyes on Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, and are reportedly ready to break the bank to bring him in to fix their problems.
