Brazil and Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison has paid heaped praises on his father for his immense contribution to his career.

Richarlison waxed lyrical about his dad in the wake of his goal-scoring feat on his Champions League debut on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old notched a brace as Tottenham sank Olympique Marseille in a hard-fought 2-0 win against the one-time winners of the Champions League.

His hard work accompanied by his two goals did not escape the lens of the UEFA Technical Observer panel, who adjudged Richarlsion as the man-of-the-match following his stellar performance.

After the game, Richarlison celebrated his match-winning contribution with his family - including his supportive father - who were in the front row pitchside in the ground's West Stand.

The £50 million summer signing from Everton had to fight back tears during an emotional celebration as he was serenaded with love by his family.

Richarlison took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his supportive dad for not giving up on his dream.

"It was years of struggle, and you were always by my side. I just need to thank you for not giving up on me and my dream.
"Today, having you here, made the moment even more exciting for me. We continue together for even bigger dreams to come! Thanks Dad!
