  • Tottenham and Sevilla players clashed at half time in a friendly on Saturday, July 16
  • It all stemmed from Son Heung Min’s unintentional elbow on Gonzalo Montiel which left the Argentine bleeding in the mouth
  • The two sides settled for a 1-1 draw in the fiery encounter

The match involving Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla was not so friendly on Saturday, July 16 as it featured some fiery moments between the two sets of players.

While the friendly ended in a 1-1 draw, it as pure entertainment for neutral fans, who were left intrigued by the passion shown by both sides.

The outstanding moment of the game was when Tottenham duo Richarlison and Heung Min Son squared up to Sevilla players.

It all started when Son launched a counterattack, but was quelled by Sevilla full-back Gonzalo Montiel.

It was Montiel who came off worse, however, as he caught a stray elbow from Son, and tempers boiled over from there.

The Argentine ended up with a bloodied mouth and at halftime, he decided to confront Son, who was having none of it.

Clearly not in the mood for a scuffle, Son shoved Montiel, and Richarlison, who is barely two weeks at Spurs decided to jump in on the action.

Cameras caught Richarlison seemingly throwing an open-palmed jab before things eventually calmed down.

How the game went

As far as the game was concerned, it was a fairly even contest between two good sides.

It was Harry Kane who opened the scoring five minutes into the second half with a strike following some excellent work from Son Heung Min, who beat his man on the edge of the 18-yards before feeding the England forward.

Prior to that, Kane had seen one of his goals ruled out for offside.

Sevilla however equalized in stunning fashion thanks to Ivan Rakitic, who struck a powerful shot from outside the box.

Chelsea win in first preseason friendly

Elsewhere, Mason Mount conjured some moment of magic to help Chelsea beat Club America in a pre-season friendly in the USA.

Timo Werner and Mount scored on either side of a bizarre own goal from Reece James to put Chelsea on its way to a victory in their first of many friendlies in the United States to come.

Chelsea will continue with a number of friendlies lined up, including a clash with Premier League rivals Arsenal.
