Tottenham Hotspur snatched two dramatic injury-time goals to come from behind to stun Leicester 3-2 in a Premier League thriller on Wednesday, January 19.

The Foxes were only moments away from clinching what would have been a famous victory, but Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn had other ideas.

Leicester were playing in the league for the first time in 2022, and despite seeing a number of their games postponed, there were little signs of hangover from Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Notably, they were without their top scorer Jamie Vardy, who is out with a thigh injury and Zambian Patson Daka was tasked with being the inspiration up front.

Daka, who was making only his third start for Leicester, opened the scoring in classy fashion, after a challenge from Serge Reguillon fell to his path.

Prior to the goal, Spurs had missed a host of chances, with Harry Kane’s header bouncing off the crossbar and two other efforts were cleared off the line.

But Kane restored parity before halftime, taking advantage of a Harry Winks pass before cutting inside Caglar Soyuncu and hitting an impressive side-foot shot past the keeper.

That was Kane’s 250th club goal and his fifth Premier League goal of the season.

James Madisson then linked up brilliantly with Harvey Barnes to put Leicester ahead in the 76th minute with a goal that looked like it would ultimately decide the match.

But there was late drama to come deep in injury time as Bergwijn, who was only introduced in the 79th minute, first bounced on a loose ball in the box to smash home an equaliser.

There was still more to offer from the game as a long ball from Tottenham in the seventh minute of added time somehow found Bergwin again and the Dutch international rounded the goalkeeper for a dramatic winner.
