The Citizen reported that a source had confirmed that Matsatsantsa A Pitori have already drafted a contract for Baxter’s second stint at the club. Baxter previously coached SuperSport United between 2016 and 2017 and oversaw 60 games in charge of the side.

SuperSport United have been without a full-time coach since they let Kaitano Tembo go. Andre Arendse has been serving as an interim coach until a successor is found.

He left after being offered the coaching role of the South African national team.

“We did not fire him but he left to take over Bafana Bafana and that was something we could not stand in the way of. Now that he is a free agent, anything is possible,” the source told the publication.

Baxter has been keen to stay in South Africa and even turned down offers abroad. Soccer Laduma reported that Baxter received a national team offer from Central America but turned it down.

Baxter has not been short of getting attention locally as well. The British coach was recently on the radar of AmaZulu, with interim coach Brandon Truter confirming that Usuthu were looking at bringing in Baxter.

The AmaZulu head coach position could soon be filled as the season draws to an end.

AmaZulu has been without a coach since the club parted ways with Benni McCarthy in March and have since appointed Brandon Truter in a caretaker role. The Usuthu are unbeaten under Truter and believes that he should be handed the role on a permanent basis.

The South African has now reported that former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, has been shortlisted for the vacant post. Baxter along with Brandon Truter, Kaitano Tembo and Steve Komphela have all been shortlisted.

Stuart Baxter was shockingly axed by Kaizer Chiefs, a string of poor results at the Amakhosi is to blame for the dismissal

Stuart Baxter’s reign at the Amakhosi is over.

After a string of poor results and another disappointing season for the Sowetan team, Sports Brief reported that Kaizer Chiefs have decided to part ways with the Scotsman. It was confirmed that Arthur Zwane and Dillion Sheppard would be in charge of the club until the end of the season.

Baxter came under fire from fans after the defeat to SuperSport United, with many in the stadium asking him to leave.
