Former SuperSport United Player Dino Ndlovu Becomes the Second South African to Play in Chinese Super League

Well-travelled South African striker Dino Ndlovu has found a new home.

The 32-year-old Ndlovu was recently unveiled as Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai's newest acquisition. This is after he departed from Turkish second division team Kocaelispor last month, where he scored nine goals in 15 appearances during a season-long stay.

According to KickOff, Ndlovu had to complete a mandatory 21-day quarantine period as China experiences another surge in Covid-19 cases. He is not new to China, as he turned out in the colours of Zhejiang FC (when they were still in the second division), where he scored a then-club record 42 goals in 67 matches.

In the process, he becomes only the second player from Mzansi to have played in the CSL, following in the footsteps of Bennett Mnguni. The former Bafana Bafana international represented Tianjin Teda in 2005, where he made 18 appearances.

Ahead of the new season, Yatai also acquired players elsewhere across the globe, including Brazilians Junior Negrao, Serginho and Erik, as well as former Danish international Jores Okore

As reported by Sports Brief, the latest is that of Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari, who has been linked with a move to great rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The 31-year-old Motshwari joined the Buccaneers from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2018, and will be out-of-contract at the end of the season.
