Impressive Super Falcons Defender Glory Ogbonna Joins Turkish Club on a Year Contract

Nigerian international Glory Ogbonna has officially joined Turkish club ALG Spor Kulubu after she signed a one-year contract.

In a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ogbonna confirmed that she will now feature for the Champions League-bound team.

She confirmed that she penned the deal on Wednesday, August 10, and expressed delight that she will feature in the women's version of the Champions League with the club this season.

Vanguard reports that Ogbonna claims she decided to dump her former club Santa Teresa of Spain to have a fresh start.

She said:

“I have always been desirous to play in the champions league as such, I couldn’t resist the offer from ALG after rejecting several others across Europe.
“I want to make history with this club and I am happy to be here. I am feeling at home already with the warm reception I got when I came in.
“Santa Teresa was good for me but I needed a fresh start so, I had to reject their offer."

The defender featured for the Super Falcons in Morocco's just concluded Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Rasheedat Ajibade bags second degree

Sports Brief earlier reported that Rasheedat Ajibade, Super Falcons' main star at the just concluded Women's Africa Cup of Nations, understands the importance of education after narrating how she bagged her second degree during the lockdown.

Ajibade, who has a degree in Accounting from Lagos State Polytechnic, explained why she had to delay her move into professional football to get a second degree in Sports Psychology from Barca Innovation Hub.

Ajibade finished the competition with three goals and three assists, making her a top scorer alongside South Africa’s Hilda Magaia and Moroccan captain Ghizlane Chebbak.
