Asisat Oshoala has been stripped of the Super Falcons' captaincy 30 months after being handed the armband by former coach of the Nigeria's women senior national team Chris Danjuma.

In September 2019, Chris Danjuma took the Super Falcons' armband from Desire Oparanozie due to her fallout with those in charge of the Nigerian Football Federation.

Desire Oparanozie made some comments which did not go well with the country's football chiefs and an order was sent for her to be stripped of the captaincy.

Luckily for Asisat Oshoala, she was named the captain of the Super Falcons inspired the Nigerian women team to Turkish Women's Cup triumph.

According to the report on Sportsnewsafrica, the Nigerian Football authorities gave the directives and passed it to Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum ahead of their friendly with Canadian women national team.

The report added that strong defender Onome Ebi has been introduced as the new captain of the Super Falcons considering her being an experienced player.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Roberto Calenda who is the agent of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen dismissed reports linking the Nigerian star with a move to the Premier League claiming his client is fine at Napoli.
