Former Chelsea player Ike Ugbo has confirmed his readiness to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria and not the English national team claiming that his father wants him to play for Nigeria.

Nigeria and England have for years been engaging in serious battles over the allegiances of players with the West African nation recently losing the likes of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori.

The Nigerian Football Federation under Amaju Pinnick tried their best to get these two players to play for the Super Eagles, but they eventually decided to wear the Three-Lions' shirts.

“Who knows, I could end up at the World Cup next year.
“Dad always wanted me to play for Nigeria because that’s where he was born and brought up. That’s one thing he would love.”
