Ademola Lookman who is currently on the books of Premier League side Leicester City has decided to switch international allegiance to the Super Eagles after playing for England at youth levels.

This latest development will come as a cheering one for all Nigerian football lovers considering how Ademola Lookman has been performing in recent years.

But since he has not been called to play for the Three-Lions, and considering the facts that Ademola Lookman's parents are Nigerians, he has the right to pick the Super Eagles.

According to the report on The Nation and BCC, Ademola Lookman will have to wait for necessary things to be done by the Nigerian Football Federation and FIFA before playing for the Super Eagles.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will also take a look into his team so as to really know how Ademola Lookman can be of help before calling him.

NFF chief scout Tunde Adelakun's comment

“We are aware of Lookman’s desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a process to it.
“After this process, then comes the consideration and decision of the head coach Gernot Rohr on whether or when he deems it fit to get him involved.''

Nigerian football legend ‘attacks’ NFF, Rohr for Odion Ighalo’s return to Super Eagles

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles legend Victor Ikpeba has queried the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs and coaching crew under Gernot Rohr for recalling Odion Ighalo back into the Nigerian squad.

Victor Ikpeba who played 31 games for the Super Eagles winning the 1994 Nations Cup explained that he is not pleased with how Odion Ighalo was recalled to the national team.

Recently, the Nigerian Football Federation announced the names of players who will face Liberia and Cape Verde in the coming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in which Ighalo was included.
