  • Super Eagles players are preparing hard for their next World Cup qualifier against Liberia in Morocco
  • The likes of Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Maduka Okoye and Alex Iwobi are expected to start for the Super Eagles
  • Gernot Rohr and his wards must make sure they beat Liberia in this match so as to have the chance of progressing

With the latest return of Odion Ighalo into the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr is expected to face selection headache ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Liberia on Saturday.

The Super Eagles camp is currently bubbling as all the players are in good mood ahead of the encounter with goalkeeper Maduka Okoye expected to be in goal for the Super Eagles.

Enyimba stopper John arrived the Super Eagles camp on Thursday afternoon, November 11, and only an unexpected injury to Okoye or Daniel Akpeyi can give Noble the chance.

Nigeria won the first game against Liberia at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos and their opponents would want to fight back in the second fixture.

And going into this game, we take a look at five players Gernot Rohr must start in this encounter for him to get the victory.

Below are the names of the five Nigerian players

1. Wilfred Ndidi

Having missed the October games for the Super Eagles, Wilfred Ndidi is back in the team and Gernot Rohr will want to start him so as for the midfield to be strong.

2. Ola Aina

Rohr has tended to utilise Aina at right-back, but a left-back berth or left wing-back role suits the defender better.

It’s a role he functions in pretty effectively for Torino and there’s a sense the German tactician is sleeping on Aina’s adequacy on the left side.

3. Alex Iwobi

The Everton man was missed in the Super Eagles defeat against Central African Republic and he is expected to return to the first team against Liberia.

4. Samuel Chukwueze

Another injury returnee, the Villarreal wide attacker’s directness has been missing in September and October’s fixtures and Gernot Rohr will want to start him against Liberia.

5. Victor Osimhen

Although Odion Ighalo has returned to the national team, but Victor Osimhen is expected to start this match for Nigeria against Liberia in Morocco.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Odion Ighalo and Victor Osimhen finally linked up in the Super Eagles for the first time in two years in which they exchanged the jerseys of their clubs.

Victor Osimhen who plays for Italian giants Napoli has been leading the attack for the Super Eagles after Odion Ighalo decided to step aside after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

And since Victor Osimhen got the chance to be leading the Super Eagles attack, the former Lille star has been impressive helping Nigeria to qualify for the next Nations Cup.
