Totorinews now confirms that the mouthwatering $4million worth of two-year contract Mikel John Obi signed with Kuwait SC has been cancelled by the club management.

Details regarding the sudden cancellation of his contract by Kuwait SC is still unknown, but it is believed that there might be more to it.

Upon joining the club about four months back, Mikel disclosed that he was there to win titles.

He said via Brila.net:

“I am happy to be here, in this great club hoping to win trophies together this season.
"For the management and the fans, thank you for your warm welcome, I am ready for the new challenge."

Mikel has not won a trophy since parting ways with English side Chelsea in 2017.

Kuwait SC missed out on the league title last season as they finished third behind Al-Qadsia and champions Al-Arabi.

How Mikel was received at the club

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel posed with a few kids after his first training at his new club Kuwait SC back in July.

The Nigerian joined The Brigadiers on a one-year deal this summer after terminating his contract with English Championship outfit Stoke City.

Although no one knew whose kids they were, they seemed excited with the opportunity to be in the same picture with the Nigeria international.

Mikel was expected to earn a staggering N1.6 billion during his 12-month reign with the Kuwaiti Premier League club, but he has left prematurely.

Nigerian star named among best dribblers in the world

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chidera Ejuke's dribbling skills have been taken him to the status of the third-best dribbler in the world.

The Nigerian international who has quick feet of the ball and possesses dribbling qualities like Super Eagles legend Austin Okocha was behind Adama Traore and Nahuel Luján.

According to CIES Observatory latest rankings, the CSKA Moscow winger scored 9.3, while the Argentine star who plays for Universidad de Chile has 9.7.
