Kanu Nwankwo Beats Jay Jay Okocha in Top 10 Players with Most Caps for Super Eagles

With Ahmed Musa becoming a joint most-capped Super Eagles player of all-time, here is a look into the top ten players who have made most appearances for the Nigerian national team, GOAL reports.

Musa equaled the record during Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Central African Republic in a 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifying fixture.

The former Kano Pillars' star made his senior team debut at the age of 17 on August 5, 2010, in a qualification match for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar after he came on as a substitute for Mikel Obi in the 2-0 win.

While the current team captain is now chasing the record to become Nigeria’s all-time record holder of most Super Eagles appearances, former goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama earlier told Legit.ng that he wants Musa to smash the record. He told Legit.ng:

“Sincerely Musa is a great guy. I really want him to represent Nigeria; it’s not about record. Like I told you, I want him to succeed. That’s the most important thing.”

Manchester rivals jostle for Osimhen’s signature

Meanwhile, two English Premier League clubs Manchester United and city rivals Manchester City are reportedly monitoring Victor Osimhen’s situation as they are both interested in the Nigerian international.

The Napoli of Italy forward was named the Serie A player for the month of September as he has been in impressive form so far this season.

Osimhen has found the back of the net seven times in eight matches for the Partenopei this season which has attracted several big clubs in Europe.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Victor Osimhen has been named the Serie A Player for the Month of September following his brilliant performances.

Despite being red-carded in Napoli's first game of the season against Venezia in August, Osimhen bounced back to produced eye-catching displays.

The Nigerian international scored seven goals in September with four of them coming in the Italian top-flight division.
