AFCON Qualifiers: NFF President Gusau Charges Super Eagles To Beat Guinea Bissau

Ibrahim Musa Gusau who is the president of the Nigerian Football Federation has officially met with the players of the Super Eagles charging them to soar against Guinea Bissau.

This will be the first time that Gusau will be meeting the players of the Super Eagles since he was elected as NFF boss in September 2022 replacing Amaju Pinnick who served for eight years.

Super Eagles players are currently in camp in Abuja where they are preparing for their double header against Guinea Bissau with the first leg coming up on Friday, 24 March.

Speaking to the players in their hotel according to the video spotted on Twitter, Gusau explained that he needs the maximum support of all the players for them to succeed together.

Statement made by Gusau

''I welcome you all for this important games and I am happy seeing your faces and I want to tell you that I will never promise you what we cannot do.
''We have to win these two matches and qualify for Ivory Coast 2024 which should be our target and I have the trust in you all.
''Whatever we are doing, let us all know that we are representing millions of Nigerians and we should make them proud.''

Osimhen assures Nigerians

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported Victor Osimhen stated emphatically that he is happy to be back in the national team and has promised Nigerians the Super Eagles will get good results against Guinea Bissau.

Jose Peseiro and his wards will tackle Guinea Bissau on Friday evening, 24 March, at the MKO Abiola stadium in the first leg of their double header with Osimhen expected to lead the attack.

Osimhen has been making the headlines this season in Europe and it is because of the goals he has been getting for Napoli in all competitions.

Osimhen explained that he and his teammates in the Super Eagles will do everything possible to redeem themselves.
